End User Licence Agreement
This End User Licence Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and the developer of QR Code Check ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App from the Apple App Store, you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
This EULA is in addition to, and does not replace, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement.
App Description
QR Code Check is a free QR code scanner that analyses URLs for security threats before you open them. The App uses multiple threat intelligence sources including Google Web Risk, URLhaus, heuristic analysis, and on-device machine learning to provide risk assessments.
Licence Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
This licence does not allow you to use the App on any device that you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.
Scope of Licence
You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicence the App. You may not copy (except as permitted by this EULA and applicable law), reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the App.
Any attempt to do so is a violation of the rights of the developer. If you breach this restriction, you may be subject to prosecution and damages.
No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
A "Safe" rating means no threats were detected by the sources checked at that time. New threats can appear before databases update. The developer does not warrant that threat detection is complete, accurate, or error-free. Always exercise your own judgement when visiting any link.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
Google Web Risk API: Subject to Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
URLhaus (abuse.ch): Subject to abuse.ch Terms of Service.
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data. In summary: all QR code detection and AI analysis runs on your device. Only the decoded URL text is sent to threat intelligence services for security lookups.
Apple's Role
You acknowledge that this EULA is between you and the developer only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including but not limited to: product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
Intellectual Property
In the event of any third-party claim that the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the developer, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
Updates and Changes
We may update the App from time to time. Updates may modify or remove certain features. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes.
We reserve the right to modify this EULA at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated by you or the developer. Your rights under this EULA will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and destroy all copies.
Governing Law
This EULA is governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from this EULA or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA, and that upon your acceptance of this EULA, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary.
